Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) sophomore Chanel Miller finished first in the heptathlon at the Warrior Open this past weekend, breaking her own program record in the process.

Miller scored 4,789 points in the event, breaking by 32 points her own UMD record that she set last May at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) championships.

Miller took first outright in five of the seven elements in the heptathlon, those being the 100-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash, long jump, javelin and the 800-meter run. She also tied for first in the high jump and finished sixth in the shot put.
