Cloquet's Plante, Team USA Win at Ivan Hlinka

Breclav, Czech Republic (NNCNOW.com) --- Cloquet, Minn. native and University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men's hockey assistant coach Derek Plante notched his first win as head coach of the United States Under-18 team on Tuesday, a 7-4 win over Russia at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.

Brock Boeser notched a hat trick in the game and Dennis Yan added two more goals for the Americans in the winning effort, moving that team's record to (1-1-0) in the tournament.

Team USA will now play Finland at 8:30 a.m. CT on Wednesday, with the winner earning a spot in the semifinal round.
