Crandall, 'Dogs Hang on to Beat the Mavericks

Omaha, NE (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey team scored two second period goals and senior goaltender Aaron Crandall racked up 37 saves as the Bulldogs beat Nebraska Omaha 3-2 on Friday night.

Freshman forward Dominic Toninato scored the game's first goal as UMD's power play expired to put UMD ahead 1-0. Adam Krause then added a goal as the second period was winding down with an assist to Alex Iafallo.

In the third period, the Bulldogs sophomore Andy Welinski scored off of a faceoff which would turn out to be the eventual game-winning goal.

UMD (8-8-1) and Nebraska Omaha face off again on Saturday night at 7:07 p.m.
