Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) football team has earned a #6 seed in the 2012 NCAA Division II tournament, it was officially announced during the NCAA selection show on Sunday afternoon.
This marks the fifth straight season UMD has qualified for the NCAA tournament, but it is the first season the Bulldogs will not host at least one playoff contest at Malosky Stadium.
UMD will travel in the first round to play #3 seed Missouri Western State, with that game set for 12:00 p.m. November 17 in St. Joseph, Mo. The Bulldogs will enter the NCAA tournament with a (10-1) overall record with the Griffons coming in with a (9-1) overall mark.
The winner of that first-round matchup will then advance to play #1-seed and undefeated Henderson State on November 24.
