'Dogs Move Up in AFCA Poll, 3rd in Region

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) football team got some good news in the polls on Monday, specifically that the team is third in the first official NCAA Super Region #3 rankings.

The top six teams in those official rankings at year's end will qualify for the NCAA Division II tournament, a 16-team field that UMD has been a part of for the past five seasons.

The Bulldogs also moved up a spot to sixth in the American Football Coaches' Association (AFCA) Division II poll, that after a 31-21 road win over Bemidji State this past Saturday afternoon.
