Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team has already played two series this season against teams ranked either No. 1 or No. 2 in the country, and this weekend will provide the Bulldogs a third opportunity.

No. 2-ranked St. Cloud State will be in town this weekend, marking the Bulldogs' first games at AMSOIL Arena since splitting with Notre Dame back in October.

UMD is (2-2) in its four games against teams ranked in the top two --- Notre Dame and Minnesota --- and assistant coach Derek Plante says that experience has taught the players a lot.

"One thing we're learning from those games is you can't two or three minutes off anywhere because they can really bury some pucks," Plante said. "They're not going to miss on those chances, so we need to play all 60 minutes."

UMD and St. Cloud State will play Dec. 6-7 at AMSOIL Arena, with both games set to start at 7:07 p.m. and be broadcast on the My 9 Sports Network.
