Ex-Bulldog Harss Makes Team Germany

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Former University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) goaltender Jennifer Harss has been named to the final roster of Team Germany ahead of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, marking her second appearance as an Olympian.

The news has not yet been officially announced but was confirmed to NNCNOW.com via Facebook on Monday afternoon by Harss' boyfriend and former UMD men's goaltender, Kenny Reiter.

Harss played for Team Germany in the 2006 Turin Olympic Games, appearing in three games and finishing the tournament with a 1.89 goals against average.

In three seasons with UMD, the Rieden, Germany native posted a record of (57-25-6) with a 2.04 goals against average and helped the Bulldogs win the 2010 NCAA Division I championship.

Germany is in a pool with Russia, Sweden, and Germany and will open round robin play in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games on Feb. 9.
