Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Former high school teammates Emma Stauber and Julia Gilbert are set to square off this weekend for one last time at AMSOIL Arena, with Gilbert now a senior for St. Cloud State and Stauber a junior for the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD).
The pair was part of the first and only team from Proctor-Hermantown-Marshall to qualify for the state tournament, with that coming in 2010.
"It's fun to experience something different," Stauber said of playing against Gilbert. "It's fun to know that we helped each other get to that level and that we pushed each other in high school."
Another Northland native skating with St. Cloud State for this weekend's series is Virginia, Minn. native Amanda Arbogast, who helped Eveleth-Gilbert to two state tournaments during her high school career.
UMD enters the series with an overall record of (4-3-1), and the games this weekend are both set to start at 6:07 p.m. at AMOSIL Arena.
