Fontaine Gets Invite to Wild Training Camp

St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Former University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) forward Justin Fontaine is one of 36 players initially invited to the 2013 Minnesota Wild training camp, the team announced on Monday.

Fontaine played the entire 2012-13 season with Minnesota's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, totaling 23 goals and 55 assists to lead the team in scoring.

The Bonnyville, Alberta native also led the team with eight points in five playoff games. He was re-signed by Minnesota to a one-year, two-way contract this past July.

Fontaine played four seasons at UMD and left having totaled 62 goals and 102 assists, with his senior year being the national championship season of 2010-11.

Minnesota's training camp will open on Sept. 12, with the team's first preseason game set for Sept. 17 against Columbus at the Xcel Energy Center.
