Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Four members of the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) volleyball team have been named to the American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA) all-Central Region team, it was announced on Wednesday.
Hibbing, Minn. native and senior outside hitter Kate Lange leads the way with her third overall selection to the team. She currently leads the nation at Division II with an average of 5.40 kills per set.
Sophomore setter Ashley Hinsch is next in line with her second overall selection to the all-region squad, that as she ranks second in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) this season with 12.85 assists per set.
Junior libero Julie Rainey and sophomore middle blocker Monica Turner round out the four UMD selections, with each making a first appearance on the all-region team.
Rainey led the NSIC this season averaging 5.69 digs per set, and Turner was second in the conference with a .380 hitting percentage.
