Herbert, No. 17 Bulldogs Win in a Shootout

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The No. 17 University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team fell down a goal early but answered with two of their own before the Bulldogs ousted the Tigers in a shootout on Friday night at AMSOIL Arena.

Andy Welinski tied the game up at one a piece in the second period with his fourth goal of the year. Then later in the second, Caleb Herbert put the home team up a goal on his seventh of the year.

The Tigers knotted it up at two a piece in the third. After a scoreless overtime, Caleb Herbert scored the lone goal in the shootout as the Bulldogs earned two points.

UMD (12-9-4) and Colorado College (3-17-5) will face off again on Saturday night at 7:07 p.m.
