Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- International Falls, Minn. native and University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) sophomore defenseman Willie Corrin has been named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) defensive player of the week, it was announced on Monday.

Corrin recorded three assists this past weekend in a road sweep of Western Michigan, including a two-point effort on Friday night to mark the first multiple-point game of his collegiate career.

The former Broncos standout also ended the two-game series with a plus-three rating and with two blocked shots for the Bulldogs.
