Lange, Bulldogs Sweep SMSU in NCAAs

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Hibbing, Minn. native Kate Lange smacked a match-high 18 kills on Friday night as the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) volleyball team swept Southwest Minnesota State 3-0 in the NCAA Division II Central Regional semifinals at Romano Gymnasium.

The Bulldogs now have a date with six-time defending NCAA Division II champions Concordia-St. Paul in the Central Regional final, with that match set for 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Brainerd, Minn. native Sydnie Mauch was second on the team Friday night with eight kills, while Herbster, Wis. native Maddy Siroin and Mariah Scharf finished with six apiece.

Ashley Hinsch finished with 39 set assists in the winning effort, while libero Julie Rainey contributed 23 digs for the Bulldogs.
