Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Hibbing, Minn. native and University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) senior outside hitter Kate Lange is on pace to break the program's all-time kills record this year, but she's far from taking all the credit.

Lange, who was also named the 2013 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) preseason player of the year, says that record will belong as much to her teammates as to her.

"It's just a reflection on the team," Lange said. "I've said it time and time again, it's a team sport. I couldn't do much without them. It is nice to have the recognition, but I haven't done much to earn it this year. I'm hoping to work as hard as I can and earn [postseason honors]."

Lange enters the 2013 season with 1,423 career kills, just over 400 behind the 1,843 career kills of Vicky Braegelmann (2004-07).
