No. 1 Gophers Make Easy Work of Bulldogs

Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The top-ranked Minnesota women's hockey team scored just one first period goal before notching five in the final two periods en route to beating the University of Minnesota Duluth 6-0 on Saturday afternoon.

The Gophers managed just one goal in the opening frame before their offense came to life with five different goal scorers in periods two and three including four power-play goals.

Kayla Black played into the third before she was pulled for Karissa Grapp. Black gave up 5 goals on 27 shots in 45 minutes while Grapp recorded seven total saves on eight attempts.

UMD will host Ohio State in the first round of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs next weekend.
