Olson Leads UMD Trio with All-Region Honors

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Three University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) senior football players have been named to the 2013 Daktronics all-Super Region #3 team, it was announced on Thursday morning.

Offensive lineman Tom Olson was the lone UMD selection to the first team, that after he played in every game this year to run his consecutive starts streak to a program-record 54 games. He was also named this year to the all-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) North Division first team.

Linebacker Colby Ring and defensive end Chris Vandervest were each named to the second team, that after they were first and second, respectively, on the team in total tackles this season.

The Bulldogs finished the season with an overall record of (11-2) and qualified for a sixth straight NCAA Division II tournament.
