Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Wide receiver Aaron Roth will lead a group of five seniors to share captaincy duties in the 2014 season for the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) football team, it was announced on Monday afternoon.

Roth will become the first two-year captain of UMD since Ted Schlafke did so in 2007-08, and he will do so with the help of four teammates.

Defensive end Jacob Brusehaver, linebacker Gavin Grady, outside linebacker Yusef Hassan, and offensive guard Andrew Muer will also serve as co-captains for the Bulldogs, with that program set to embark on its 82nd year of intercollegiate football.

UMD is the six-time defending champion in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) and will start its 2014 season Sept. 6 at home against Concordia-St. Paul.
