Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Following its two biggest wins of the season, the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) volleyball team jumped three spots to third in this week's American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA) poll.
The Bulldogs beat then #4-ranked Concordia-St. Paul 3-1 on Friday night and then turned around to sweep then #10-ranked Minnesota State-Mankato on Saturday afternoon.
UMD is now (15-1) overall this season and in a three-way tie for first in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). Saturday's win also marked the 100th career conference win for head coach Jim Boos.
The Bulldogs are next in action October 5 and 6 with road matches against the University of Mary and Minot State.
