Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota Duluth men's basketball avoided a last-second scare against St. Cloud State to win their 2013 finale 79-78 on Saturday afternoon at Romano Gymnasium as a part of a doubleheader.

The Huskies' Jordan Poydras knocked down two free throws with less than three seconds to play to move within in a point of the Bulldogs, but that's as close as they would get.

Junior guard Reece Zoelle finished with a game-high 22 points while freshman Justin Byrd added 12. Senior guards Peter Crawford and Jordan Reetz put up 14 and 11 points, respectively.

UMD (5-5) doesn't play again for two weeks when they start their second half against Concordia-St. Paul.
