Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) senior goaltender Aaron Crandall has signed a professional contract with the Alaska Aces of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), the school announced on Thursday afternoon.

The Lakeville, Minn. native had his best collegiate season this winter for the Bulldogs, posting career bests in victories (14), goals against average (2.76), saves percentage (.900), starts (29), appearances (29), and minutes (1,738:55).

The outgoing senior was named three times this season as the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) goaltender of the week, and he ranks third all-time among Bulldogs in career winning percentage (.559), fourth in career goals against average (2.83), and fifth in both career saves percentage (.895) and in shutouts (five).

The school says he will join his new team immediately, meaning he will be with the Aces for Thursday night's road matchup against the Las Vegas Wranglers.
