UMD's Harper Wins Inaugural Raymond Scholarship

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) freshman men's basketball player Jake Harder was named on Wednesday one of 16 winners of the inaugural Butch Raymond Scholarship, which will be given annually to one student from each school in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).

The Spring Valley, Minn. native is an exercise science major at UMD and was a freshman this past winter with the basketball team, averaging 13.0 minutes, 1.8 points, and 2.3 rebounds per game for the Bulldogs.

To be eligible for the $5,000 Butch Raymond Scholarship a student must have a grade point average of 3.20 or higher and plan to work in a health-related field or attend graduate school in a health-related field.
