Duluth, MN (NNCOW.com) --- University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) senior captain Zoe Hickel welcomed her Mom, Christy, and the rest of the Alaska All Stars this weekend as one of eight teams to play in the first-ever Northern Exposure Women's College Showcase.

Growing up, Hickel played for the Alaksa All Stars under the guidance of her mom, Christy, who still coaches the team.

Besides having their own personal tour guide for the weekend, Christy said the weekend tournament is a great learning experience for her girls.

"I thought with it being Zoe's senior year it would be a nice time to come down and experience Duluth and have her show us her program with the Bulldogs," Hickel said. "We can do some tours with some other schools and expose my Alaska kids to some of the Minnesota-Wisconsin area schools."

The eight-team tournament brings in players from across the country and wraps up with championship game at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Mars Lakeview Arena.
