UMD's Osterberg is NCHC Rookie of the Month

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) freshman forward Kyle Osterberg has been chosen as the first-ever National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) rookie of the month, it was announced on Thursday.

Osterberg has been great through the Bulldogs' first six games of thr season, totaling two goals and two assists to put himself tied for the team scoring lead.

The Lakeville, Minn. native also has a plus-four rating and leads the Bulldogs with a .222 shooting percentage so far this season.

UMD is (3-2-1) through its first six games of the 2013-14 year and will continue with a two-game road series this weekend against Ohio State.
