UMD's Plante, USA Ousted by Canada in Semis

Piestany, Slovakia (NNCNOW.com) --- Cloquet, Minn. native and University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men's assistant hockey coach Derek Plante and the United States Under-18 team fell to Canada 11-5 in the semifinals of the Ivan Hlinka Tournament Friday.

Thomas Novak led the Americans with two goals in the loss for his tournament-leading 10th point.

The U.S. will face Sweden on Saturday in the bronze medal game at 8:00 a.m.
