UMD's Stalder is WCHA Rookie of the Week

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) freshman defenseman Lara Stalder has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) rookie of the week, it was announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Stalder had one goal and four assists this past weekend against North Dakota, playing a factor in five of UMD's six goals in the two-game series.

Through her first four games this season, Stalder has two goals and seven assists and has recorded two or more points in three of those contests.

The freshman leads all of NCAA Division I with an average of 1.75 assists per game this season, and she tops the nation's rookies by averaging 2.25 points per game.
