UMD's Stormont Named NSIC Offensive POW

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) sophomore forward Maureen Stormont scored four goals over the weekend for the women's soccer team, earning offensive player of the week honors in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).

Stormont scored three times in a Friday afternoon win against Minnesota-Crookston, and then she added the Bulldogs' lone goal in Sunday's 1-1 tie against Bemidji State.

The Stillwater, Minn. native finished the regular season tied for second in the NSIC scoring race, totaling 11 goals and two assists on the year.
