Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Senior quarterback Chase Vogler scored five rushing touchdowns on Saturday afternoon as the #10-ranked University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) football team earned a 49-31 win over Northern State in the team's 2012 regular season finale.
Vogler gained 224 yards on the ground and scored the five touchdowns, with all that coming in what is likely his last-ever football game at Malosky Stadium.
The team honored its 11 seniors before the game, including eight who started with the program as redshirt freshmen in the 2008 season.
Logan Lauters also had a big rushing day for UMD, finishing with 149 yards and two touchdowns, while Austin Sikorski added another 102 yards on the ground for the Bulldogs.
The win also marked the 100th career win with the Bulldogs for UMD head coach and athletic director Bob Nielson, who has won two NCAA Division II championships while with the team.
UMD finishes the regular season with a (10-1) overall record and now must wait to find out if they have earned a spot in the NCAA Division II tournament. The official selection of the 24-team field will happen November 11 at 4:00 p.m.
