UMD Women Clinch Playoff Home Ice with Win

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The UMD women's hockey team clinched home ice in the first round of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) playoffs on Friday night with a 4-1 win over Minnesota State-Mankato.

The Bulldogs got two goals from Audrey Cournoyer and one each from Shara Jasper and Haley Irwin in the winning effort.

Jennifer Harss made 24 saves in the game for UMD, which will host Ohio State next weekend in the first round of the WCHA playoffs.

The Bulldogs and Mavericks will close out their weekend series Saturday night, with face off set for 7:07 p.m. at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth.
