Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Nick Bursik has been named the interim head baseball coach at UW-Superior, replacing the departed Eddy Morgan, the school's athletic department announced on Monday.
Bursik spent the 2013 season working with the team's pitchers as an assistant coach, that after graduating in 2012 following four seasons playing for the Yellowjackets.
“I am very excited for the opportunity to lead the only collegiate program I have ever known." Bursik said. “We have a great group of returning players and recruits that can truly make our upcoming season special."
The Stillwater, Minn. native will take the helm of UW-Superior baseball for the 2014 season, with a permanent replacement expected to be in place before the 2015 year.
Bursik appeared in 40 games as a pitcher during his playing days with the Yellowjackets, and he was also awarded the team award for pitcher of the year in the 2011 season.
