'Jackets Get Past the Blue Devils in WIAC Tourney

Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) men's hockey team moved one step closer to winning the inaugural Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) postseason title with a 6-3 win over UW-Stout on Tuesday.

The Yellowjackets jumped out to a two-goal lead thanks to Michael Rey and Jordan Neduzak. It was a different story in the second period though, as the Blue Devils rattled off three goals of their own to take the lead.

In the third, Rey tied things up at 3-3 before Neduzak racked up two more goals Rey sealed the deal with an empty-netter late as both he and Neduzak tallied hat-tricks in the win.

Corey Koop finished with 36 saves in net for the Yellowjackets.

UWS will head to UW-River Falls on Friday night to take on the Falcons in the WIAC semifinals.
