Linzmeier Leads UWS Over UW-Stout in Playoffs

Menomonie, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The fifth-seeded University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) outlasted fourth-seeded UW-Stout thanks to a three-point play from Sally Linzmerier with 23 seconds to play to give the Yellowjackets an 86-81 win on Tuesday.

The visiting Yellowjackets led by as many as 17 points before the Blue Devils began their comeback in the second half. With the game tied at 79-79, Linzmeier hit the bucket and the free-throw to put her team ahead for good. She led all scorers with 32 points.

Britnee Blake finished with 17 points and Brynn Liljander racked up 16 points in the win for UWS.

UWS will play at UW-Whitewater on Thursday in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (WIAC) semifinals.
