Superior Native Olson is NCHA Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Superior native and UW-Superior senior Ashlee Olson has been named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) scholar-athlete of the year, it was announced on Wednesday.

As an excercise science major, Olson carries a 3.82 grade point average and has two times been named to the NCHA all-academic team. She has also been named four times to the UW-Superior honor roll and dean's list.

A captain this year for the Yellowjackets, Olson has 11 points this season and is currently riding a five-game scoring streak.

UW-Superior has advanced to the NCHA semifinals, and the team is next in action this Friday against Adrian. That game is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. in River Falls.
