Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- UW-Superior senior outfielder Taylor VanDamme has been named to the all-conference first team in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC), it was announced on Tuesday.

This marks the third such honor for VanDamme, who was also named to the WIAC first team following the 2010 and 2011 seasons.

The Superior native led the Yellowjackets in several offensive categories this season, including batting average (.391), hits (43), triples (10), home runs (4), runs batted in (22), total bases (77), and stolen bases (8).

VanDamme also finished second on the team in fielding percentage, helping lead UW-Superior to a (12-20) record in 2012.

Two other Superior natives were given WIAC honorable mention on Tuesday, those being seniors Chelsey Jarzin and Ashlee Olson. Jarzin was also the Yellowjackets' representative on the WIAC all-sportsmanship team.
