Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- UW-Superior junior guard Sally Linzmeier has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) women's basketball player of the year, it was announced on Tuesday.

Linzmeier this season lead the WIAC in averaging 18.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game, and she was also in the conference's top 10 of assists, blocks, and steals.

The Valders, Wis. native broke her own school record this season in scoring 523 points, putting her fifth on UW-Superior's all-time scoring list and just 90 points away from the all-time leader.

Linzmeier was also named on Tuesday to the all-WIAC first team for a second straight season and to the WIAC's all-defensive team for a third consecutive year.
