UWS Men Advance, Women Fall in Playoffs

(NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) men's hockey team upset top-seeded UW-River Falls 4-0 while the women were shutout by UW-Stevens Point in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference semifinals on Saturday night.

Four different players scored for the Yellowjackets: Connor Faupel, Andy Singerhouse, Michael Rey, and Pat Dalbec. Dayn Belfour finished with 33 saves and the shutout for UWS.

UWS will face the winner of UW-Eau Claire/UW-Stevens Points in next weekend's conference championship.

On the women's side, Shanley Peters finished with 29 saves but the Yellowjackets couldn't get on the scoreboard in the 1-0 loss.
