Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- UW-Superior women's basketball coach Don Mulhern was named Monday as the coach of the year in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).

Mulhern led the Yellowjackets to a (12-14) overall record and their first appearance in the WIAC postseason tournament since 2004.

Hermantown native and UW-Superior senior Bri Davis was also named Monday as the WIAC co-scholar athlete of the year.

As a community health major with a child development minor, Davis has a cumulative grade point average of 3.97 and is also a three-time member of the WIAC scholastica honor roll.

Davis also received honorable mention on the WIAC all-conference team, along with teammates Sally Linzmeier, Hailey Hart, and Connie Urmanski.

Linzmeier was named also to the WIAC all-defensive team, and UW-Superior freshman Mariah Marcol was named to the WIAC all-sportsmanship team.
