Yellowjackets Picked 4th in WIAC Poll

Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The UW-Superior women's basketball team has been picked to finish fourth in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) preseason poll of coaches and sports information directors, which was released on Wednesday.

The Yellowjackets are coming off the program's best season ever, a year in which the team won a program-record 19 games and hosted its first-ever WIAC tournament game.

Junior Sally Linzmeier will lead this year's returners after finishing second in the conference last season with an average of 16.6 points per game. She is also already sixth on UW-Superior's all-time steals list with 155 in her career.

Head coach Dr. Don Mulhern is back for his eighth season with the Yellowjackets, and he currently sits nine wins away from 200 in his career.
