Yellowjackets Picked 7th in Preseason WIAC Poll

Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) volleyball team has been picked seventh in the preseason Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) coaches' poll, it was announced on Wednesday.

The Yellowjackets finished the 2011 season with an overall record of (16-17), the most wins in a single season for the program since 2007.

Esko natives Farrah Wirtz and Keely Deadrick will lead the UWS returners in 2012, with the team losing only two players to graduation from a year ago. Wirtz in 2011 was named to the WIAC all-defensive team, and she will enter this season as one of the team's four co-captains.
