Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- After 26 years of competitions on Pike Lake, the Brewhouse Triathlon moved its home to Island Lake for the 27th Annual race on Saturday morning with over 500 participants and three different races.

Brian Bich of Duluth was the fastest overall finisher in the long course at 1:59.42 while Rhett Bonner of Duluth was second and Jason Crisp of Carlton took home the bronze.

Lesley Rockwood of Park City was the top female finisher with a time of 2:17.07 with Jessica Rossing of Duluth in the second spot and Christel Kippenhan of Bemidji in third.

"I think the venue is awesome this year," said Mike Ward, the short course overall champion. "The swim was great, Island Lake's beautiful, and the bike course was nice and flat and smooth. The running course was super scenic right by the lake. It's great."

"It's a brilliant swimming beach and the course out here is great for getting out and doing things," said Mark Evans, the swim course coordinator. "We wanted to come out here and expand our space a little bit."
