Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women's soccer team left on Friday for a 10-day preseason trip that will take them to Germany, Austria, and Italy --- but after that's over they say they need to get to work and focus on the 2014 season.

The European getaway is acting as sort of a reward for a magical 2013 season in which the Bulldogs reached the NCAA Elite Eight, but senior forward Shannon Driscoll says the team needs to leave the past in the past.

"It's a clean slate for everything and everyone this season," Driscoll said. "So it's going to be just a lot of hard work during the preseason to get where we need to be to start our season off successfully."

The Bulldogs will return to Duluth on Aug. 19 to start preseason training for the 2014 season.
