Black, Bulldogs Blanked by No. 2 Badgers

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Sophomore goalie Kayla Black made 31 saves but the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) women's hockey team couldn't get on the board as No. 2 Wisconsin ousted the Bulldogs 1-0 in the series finale Saturday night.

After a scoreless first and second period, Karley Sylvester scored the game's lone goal in the third period.

The Bulldogs outshot the Badgers 22-17 in the third period but Alex Rigsby and Ann-Renee Desbiens combined for the shutout with 28 saves.

UMD (7-6-3) will host Team Russia on Monday night in an exhibition match at 6:07 p.m.
