Mankato, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Cherry softball team couldn't muster any offense on Thursday evening in the MSHSL Class A semifinals, and that resulted in a 3-0 loss to New Ulm Cathedral at Caswell Park in Mankato, Minn.

The Greyhounds did all their scoring in the third inning, with Cherry pitcher Kacey Herring finishing her six innings pitched having allowed five hits and recorded eight strikeouts.

Anna Mohr, on the other hand, pitched a complete game shutout for New Ulm Cathedral and allowed only three hits while striking out nine batters.

Cherry will now play the MSHSL Class A third place trophy, with that game set for 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Caswell Park.
