Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Nearly 2,000 paddlers took to Barker's Island on 88 different teams on Saturday for the 13th annual Lake Superior Dragon Boat Festival thanks to the help of several Rotary clubs from around the Northland.

The festival is one of the largest in the country with all proceeds benefitting organizations in the Twin Ports.

In the boat, it's all about being in sync. Just ask Wiki Wiki Wahine assistant coach Julie Deters.

"The whole entire team absolutely needs to be in synchronicity," Deters said. "You could have some extremely strong paddlers, and if they're out of sync, if they think they're going to do it all on their own and they're out of sync, they're not helping at all in moving the boat. You need everybody working at the same time."

Wiki and Da Boyz came in second place while Windy City Dragons took home the top spot in the Gold Finals.
