The Duluth Clydesdales and the Wisconsin Wilderness will be competing in the Superior International Junior Hockey League, a tier two junior league based out of Canada.

Both franchises were initially turned down for the league, but won their appeals. No formal reason was given for either the denial or the eventual approval.

Former NHLer Butch Williams is both G-M and among the coaches for the Clydesdales. Former Bulldog Rod Aldoff is the head coach of the Wilderness.
