Chaska, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Damon Turnburg hit a walkoff double on Thursday night as New York Mills rallied from a three-run deficit to beat Ely 4-3 in the MSHSL Class A baseball quarterfinals at Chaska Athletic Park.

The Timberwolves jumped out to a three-run lead after five innings thanks to a wild pitch and runs batted in from both Max Gannt and Louis Gerzin, but New York Mills put up three runs in the sixth inning and then won it in the seventh.

Gerzin pitched a gem of a game for Ely, taking a shutout into the fifth inning before New York Mills got to him. Gerzin finished with 6.1 innings pitched, allowing just four hits and three earned runs while striking out eight hitters.

Ely is now (21-3) overall this season and will now face Royalton in the consolation semifinals, with that game scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Friday at the Mini Met in Jordan, Minn.
