Esko Wins in OT, Advances to State Semis

Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Kory Deadrick scored a team-high 24 points and pulled down 14 rebounds on Wednesday night to lead the Esko boys' basketball team to a 57-54 overtime win over East Grand Forks in the MSHSL Class AA quarterfinals at Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minn.

East Grand Forks' Jim Warmack also finished with 24 points in the contest, including a three-pointer with 16 seconds left to tie the game at 51-51 and send it into an overtime.

Marc Peterson added 16 points and Casey Staniger had 11 points for the Eskomos in the winning effort, marking the second straight year the team has won a state quarterfinal game.

Esko will now play Fairmont in the Class AA semifinals, with that game set for 8:00 p.m. Friday at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
