Eskomos Fall to 4A Champs in Season Opener

Esko, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Esko girls' basketball team fell 67-44 on Thursday night to two-time defending Class AAAA champion Hopkins, marking the Eskomos' season opener in the 2012-13 year.

Senior Savanna Trapp was the leader for Esko, finishing with a team-high 23 points and 11 rebounds while adding five blocked shots.

Esko is now (0-1) this season and will next be in action on December 1 against Lakeville North, with that game scheduled for a 2:15 p.m. start.

LUMBERJACKS TAKE CARE OF AGATES AT HOME

The Cloquet girls' basketball team earned its first win of the 2012-13 season on Thursday night, beating Two Harbors by a 67-29 final score.

The Lumberjacks are now (1-1) this season while the Agates fall to (0-1) with the loss.
