Esko, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Esko, Minn. native Savanna Trapp will depart on Wednesday morning bound for Los Angeles, Calif. and the Division I UCLA women's basketball program, where she will start summer workouts on June 24.

Trapp finished her high school career with a Minnesota state record 643 blocks, helping the Eskomos to four straight Section 7AA championship contests.

When asked if the UCLA moniker was intimidating for an incoming freshman or something exciting, Trapp wasted no time thinking of an answer.

"I think it's more exciting to come into a program with great tradition," Trapp said, "because you get to be part of something special and help build on that."

She said Tuesday afternoon it hasn't been decided whether she will redshirt her true freshman year while with the Bruins.
