Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Former University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) offensive lineman Jake Bscherer has an injured shoulder and is done pursuing a spot this season on an NFL roster, he confirmed to NNCNOW.com on Sunday afternoon.

The Door County Advocate was first to report the news, and Bscherer confirmed via text message on Sunday that he was forced to turn down an offer from Kansas City because of the injury.

Bscherer signed a free agent contract with Seattle this past spring, but he was cut just three days into training camp due to what he termed a "business decision."

The Sturgeon Bay, Wis. native spent just one season with the Bulldogs, that being his senior year in 2012. He played left tackle and was selected to the all-Nothern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) first team after helping UMD become the third-highest scoring offense in all of NCAA Division II football.
