FDL Ojibwe Wins 3OT Thriller, Moves to Semis

Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Fond du Lac Ojibwe boys' basketball team made the most of its first-ever trip to the MSHSL Class A tournament, winning a quarterfinal game on Thursday afternoon 85-82 in triple overtime over Canby at Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minn.

Devonte Williamson led the Ogichidaag with 23 points and 20 rebounds in the contest, hitting many key shots at the end of the regulation and in the overtimes. He also chopped in with a block at the buzzer of the first extra session to keep the game tied at 73-73.

Jordan Diver was also a key player for Fond du Lac Ojibwe, with six of his 19 points coming in the decisive third overtime. He shot 8-fo-14 from the floor and made three three-pointers in the winning effort.

The Ogichidaag will now play a semifinal game against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, with that scheduled for 12:00 p.m Friday at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
